Dressing a purpose-built JK with pink accents was set in motion at last year’s SEMA Show when Austin O’ Krinsky and his Extreme Offroad crew noticed several pink themed off-road vehicles and decided they wanted to create the “ultimate girl Jeep with an Extreme touch.” Since his wife always hinted at a custom ride of her own, Austin had the personal motivation he needed to create the princess of all Jeeps.
Nicknamed Jewel by his wife for its “awesome” jewel-encrusted crown that was thoughtfully placed on the subwoofer enclosure to not only catch the eye, but cement its status as one of off-road’s royalty builds. “And what girl doesn’t love eye-catching bling’d out things?” Austin adds. Although this build could have been any vehicle, he chose a 2014 Jeep JK due to it easily being the most “accessorize-able” off-road vehicle on the market and since girls love to accessorize, it was the perfect match!
The girl jeep went through a couple of renderings since O’Krinsky wanted the perfect feminine yet rugged touches on it, with the finished Jeep an exact replica of the chosen rendering. Since there were no surprises on the design, he was able to find all the exact products he wanted to use without facing any challenges. With more than $60K invested into the Jeep, some of its highlights include all the custom painted pink accents like the Rigid Industries light bars and custom hydro-dipped interior panels in a pink zebra print, as well as the BDS Suspension and 6.5 Long Arm lift kit with Fox Shocks.
When it made its grand debut at the 2014 DUB Show Tour Dallas, TX stop, the Jewel won first place and broke necks with all the ladies admiring its color scheme and all the guys checking out the parts.
“We never imagined that we’d get so much attention with a pink Jeep. But that just went to show us that when anything is done right, it’ll attract a true off-road enthusiast – no matter its color.”
Not only does it sit pretty at shows, but underneath all that pink is a trail-ready Jeep that has been tested out by O’Krinsky. “We took the Jeep out to Galveston Island [a local off-roading spot that’s close to the Houston, TX area] and really four-wheeled it through some sand dunes and splashed on the beach,” he describes. “I think the best part was when we had to pull out a couple of big lifted trucks that got stuck. It’s funny to see a pink Jeep pulling out a big, masculine truck.”
Now the off-roading Jewel will travel to the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV where it will be showcased and possibly be put up for sale. “Whatever we decide to do it with, one thing is for sure – it’ll be hard to top this if we ever decide to do another girly themed build again!”
