So when off-road enthusiasts and shop owner Jordan Muesse needed promo vehicles for his up and coming shop in Katy, TX - Premier Offroad and Performance – he knew he needed to grab everyone’s attention with a set of his and hers off-road machines. Since these vehicles would be the shop’s first statement in the off-roading customization scene, he decided to go with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler and 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie as the foundations of the build.
Muesse’s mission was to make these vehicles eye-catching and unique, in addition to being trail-worthy, especially if he wanted to spread the word about his shop - a reason why he went for a bold matching purple color scheme.
“The truck is known as ‘Barney,’ the Jeep is ‘Baby B’”, he explains. “At first, I just planned on doing the purple truck and then decided to build the Jeep as a gift to my fiancée. I’m a huge Ram truck guy, as well as a Jeep fanatic, so of course I had to do all Mopar vehicles!” Muesse wanted both to have the same rugged feel when parked next to each other and with the help of Strictly Custom Designs, was able to put his ideas to paper. “The builds were not very far from the initial design, but we did have a few small tweaks here and there,” he describes. “As for products, we made sure to do our research on the latest and greatest parts the aftermarket had to offer and we chose what would fit with our initial design.”
The Ram sports a custom 12” 3rd Coast Suspension system with dual Fox 2.0 shocks in the front and Fox 2.0 reservoir shocks in the rear, while a set of 22x12 TIS 534B wheels framed in 37x13.50R22 Nitto Trail Grapplers complete the setup. Adding to the exterior, Road Armor Stealth front and rear bumpers adorn the truck and were fitted with Crazy Bone lighting cubes. There’s also a Royalty Core grille, Rhino-Rack roof rack, Retrax Pro bed cover, Bedrug liner and some AMP Research steps that add to its bold exterior.
The Jeep features a 6.5” BDS Suspension with Fox shocks and a BDS dual steering stabilizer for easy travels. A matching set of 37x13.50R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers and 20x12 TIS 535MB wheels were chosen to give the pair a uniform look. Like it’s Dodge big brother, it also rocks some of the same exterior mods, including the Road Armor Stealth front and rear bumpers and a Royalty Core grille.
And to pull these two matching rides, Muesse also dressed up his 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 Limited Megacab Dually. “ I thought, ‘What better way to pull them around to shows then building a sweet black tow rig at the same time?’ and that’s how the trio came about.” The Dodge Ram took about a year to completely finish, with the shop finishing just a few months before its SEMA 2014 debut; the Jeep was easier to complete and done within three months. Both were meticulously managed in order to get everything just right before they were unveiled at last year’s SEMA Show in the LFTD&LVLD section. “The public’s eye was definitely caught by the color scheme,” he explains. “Their purple color isn’t something you usually see, especially on two corresponding builds. The Ram 3500 definitely got a lot of attention as well since it towed both rigs to Las Vegas from Texas.”
As the shop’s first big foray into the lifted truck/Jeep niche, Muesse and his team were beyond thrilled at the results and the attention their vehicles received. And right after the show, they went out to the Las Vegas desert for this quick photo shoot, where they also got to see some dirt. “They stood up to the test on the terrain and were able to show off all the capabilities of the aftermarket parts, giving all of our sponsors the ability to brag that these aren’t just show vehicles and can really tear up any terrain. We really did put all of our hard work and effort into each build to showcase what we love and what we do. The work speaks for itself.”
Since then, word has spread like wildfire across Katy and other local communities that Premier Offroad and Performance is a go to shop for custom work.
